Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit has forbidden haredim to demonstrate outside the houses of those responsible for recruiting haredim to the IDF, according to a Channel 2 report.

According to the report, Mandelblit wrote in a letter to the Police Commissioner that "there is no place to give a permit for these demonstrations, and action must be taken against those participants who do not obey orders to disperse.

In a letter sent by Deputy Attorney General Raz Nizri and State Prosecutor Shay Nitzan, the two stated that there is severe harm being done to haredi soldiers and this must be fought.

The two added that even greater danger is caused when such demonstrations aimed at haredi and religious public figures serving as state representatives for their constituency take place.

The new directive comes in addition to a previous directive banning demonstrations near the houses of senior public servants, including the Attorney-General himself.

The two mentioned demonstrations which took place in the last few months outside the houses of those responsible for enlisting haredim, such as Rabbi Menahem Katz of Bnei Brak, Captain Yaakov Rashi of Beit Shemesh and the Rabbi of Kiryat Gat, who agreed to the enlistment of a percentage yeshiva students.
