US President Donald Trump has changed the header of his high-profile Twitter account to a picture of him standing at the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem.

In the picture, taken during his visit yesterday at the Western Wall, Trump is seen wearing a black kippa, touching the wall as he prays.

Trump’s Twitter account is listed as the 34th most-followed, with over 30 million followers, ensuring the image receives good exposure.

On Monday, Trump became the first acting US president to have visited the Western Wall.

At a joint press conference later with Prime Minister Netanyahu, Trump said that he was “deeply moved” by the experience.

"Words fail to capture the experience. It will leave an impression on me forever," the US president said.
