Strong winds moving in from north Africa bring sandstorms and hazy conditions, Israeli forecasters warned.

In the south and center of Israel, Sunday's weather is expected to be unseasonably hot and dry. Sandstorms are expected in the southern Negev, and hot winds will hit Israel's center.

Israel's Environmental Protection Ministry warned these conditions will cause high air pollution levels and low visibility, and advised those with health conditions to stay indoors as much as possible. Included in the Environmental Protection Ministry's recommendation are babies and small children, those with heart and lung disease, and pregnant women.

In addition, healthy adults are advised to avoid engaging in intense physical activities outdoors.

Sunday afternoon will see rains in the Galilee. These rains will migrate south by evening, turning into thunderstorms and ending the heat wave and sandstorm.
