Following a long break in the cold weather, winter returned on Saturday night and is expected to remain for the next few days.

On Sunday, there will be occasional rains from the north of Israel to the Negev, as well as isolated thunderstorms. There may be flooding in eastern and southern Israel.Snow is expected to fall in the Hermon, and there may be dust storms in the south. Temperatures will drop to lower than the seasonal average. Sunday night will be much the same as Sunday.

Monday will see occasional rains from northern Israel to the Negev, as well as isolate thunderstorms. There may be flooding in eastern and/or southern Israel. On Monday night, a light snow may fall on the peaks of northern mountains. Temperatures are expected to be lower than the seasonal average.

Rain is expected to fall on Tuesday in the north and center of Israel, and there may be occasional thunderstorms. There may be flooding near the Dead Sea and in the Judean Desert. Temperatures will continue to be lower than average for the season and snow may fall on the Hermon and other northern peaks.

Wednesday will see local rains in the north and center of the country. It will be extremely cold and snow may fall on the Hermon and other northern peaks.

On Friday, the Kinneret's (Sea of Galilee) water level stood at 213 meters and 30 centimeters below sea level, 30 centimeters below the lower red line and 4.5 meters below the upper red line. The upper red line signals the lake is full.

As a result of Saturday night's rain, there was flooding in different places around Haifa, especially in the "Industrial Pioneers" underground walkways and Route 58. Firefighters were called to rescue drivers from vehicles which had entered flooded areas.

No one was injured.
