Will Naftali Bennett's leadership of the Jewish Home party be challenged?
Rabbi Yitzchak Hai Zaga has officially joined Jewish Home as a member and intends to run as a candidate for the party leadership in the upcoming primaries.
Over the next few months, Rabbi Zaga will introduce the public to his policy platform on education, social issues, security, and the economy.
Representatives of the new candidate said Rabbi Zaga intends to "situate Jewish Home as a party for all Israelis with a clear ideological position, addressing social issues by proposing creative and practical solutions in the realms of the fight against poverty and the housing crisis, as well as all other areas of life in Israel."
The movement that is putting Rabbi Zaga up for candidacy is still being built, with the intention of attracting thousands of new members to Jewish Home, thereby influencing the future of the party.
Rabbi Zaga is currently head of the Torah Education Institute "Ruach Yerushalmit" (Jerusalem Spirit). He has Masters degrees in law and business and has served as a strategic consultant and director in several large companies, including Africa-Israel and Dor Energy.
