Ruchie Freier, a Haredi lawyer from Brooklyn, is now the first Chasidic woman judge in the New York State Supreme Court

Freier, a mother of six, is considered an expert on real estate in Brooklyn. In addition to her extensive legal background, years ago, Freier founded a grass roots organization called Ezras Nashim, an all- female volunteer EMT organization. Freier is a licensed EMT herself.

Six months ago, when Freier submitted herself as a candidate, she explained that she has devoted her life to helping those in need and now she wishes to do that from the judge’s chair.

“I am absolutely honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to make a kiddush Hashem,” the 51 year old Mrs. Freier told VIN News, “I want to help the average citizen. I have always been there to help the average citizen. I was always there to help if someone needed to buy a house or if the child had an issue getting into a yeshiva. I will continue to do those things from the courthouse.”
