Israel has won its fourth medal in Rio, and second in the Paralympic games currently under way. After the two Judo bronze medals won at the Olympics around a month ago (by Yarden Gerbi and Ori Sasson), and after the bronze won by rower Moran Samuel last night, another bronze medal was won in Brazil.

One of the most decorated and respected athletes in the Israeli delegation, shooter Doron Shaziri, finished third in the 50-meter Rifle 3-position event, thus earning a bronze medal.

This marks the sixth (!) time in a row that Shaziri wins a medal at the Paralympics, a streak that began in Atlanta in 1996.

Shaziri had reached the final from the fourth position in the preliminary rounds, and his score of 437.5 points was just enough to get him onto the podium with his 8th career medal.

The 49-year-old shooter adds to a staggering medal tally that includes: 2 silver medals at Atlanta 1996, a bronze in Sydney 2000, two bronzes in Athens 2004, and two more silvers in Bejing 2008 and London 2012.
