MK Motti Yogev addressed Minister of Welfare and Social Services Haim Katz and the Jewish Home ministers requesting to appoint Rabbi Yisrael Rosen to the committee for Shabbat work permits.

Yogev stated in his letter that "Rabbi Yisrael Rosen is a rabbi and engineer who established the Tzomet Institute in Alon Shvut and has headed it for 39 years."

He added that "the Tzomet Institute deals with the interface between science, Torah and the workplace aiming to find solutions in the public sector to the requirements of Halacha and the implementation of the ideal of a Jewish democratic state in Israel.

"After the railway works affair it seems to me that there is nobody more suitable than Rabbi Rosen to be a member of the committee for special Shabbat permits. With the help of the wide knowledge he has gained over the years as well as his experience and abilities, he will be able to provide solutions to the complex issues beween the Halachic requirements and the essential needs of the country."
