After successfully passing a pacemaker implantation yesterday, former Israeli President and elder Israeli statesman Shimon Peres (93) seemed energized.

“I feel great. When can I get back to work already? I’m bored!” he said, according to Ynet.

The procedure follows a light heart attack which Peres experienced three months ago; it took place at the Tel Hashomer Hospital.

Although the procedure involves partial anesthesia which can cause drowsiness, Peres was apparently awake the whole time, speaking with medical staff and reading newspapers.

Peres’ office said this morning: “Peres’ doctors recommended the pacemaker implantation in order to prevent irregularities in heartbeat, and to ensure that he continues in his full capacity and health,” Ynet reported.
