Senator Marco Rubio will win the Florida GOP Senate primary, CNN projected Tuesday night.

The races of a pair of other incumbent lawmakers facing primaries -- GOP Sen. John McCain and Democrat Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz -- have yet to be projected, the network said.

In Arizona, McCain faces a test from Kelli Ward, a conservative 33 years McCain's junior who has suggested his age (he turned 80 on Monday) means he's too old for a sixth term.

In Florida, the former Democratic National Committee chairwoman, Wasserman Schultz, must stave off a challenge for her congressional seat from Bernie Sanders-backed Tim Canova.

Rubio, a first-term senator, faced off against wealthy businessman Carlos Beruff -- while on the Democratic side, Rep. Patrick Murphy defeated Rep. Alan Grayson and will take on Rubio in November.

Rubio sought the Republican presidential nomination but dropped out of the presidential race soon after losing to Donald Trump in his own state.
