Military historian Arye Yitzhaki, among those expelled from Gush Katif, calls on the Likud party to cancel the membership of new member Gilad Sharon, the son of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon who instigated the expulsion from Gush Katif.

"His registration with the Likud did not surprise me, he is a slippery man who knows how to change appearances," said Yitzhaki of the younger Sharon. "If there is any decency in the Likud management, they will cancel [his registration]. He and [Dov] Weisglass were the fathers of the expulsion. They incited [Ariel] Sharon to do it."

It will be remembered that Ariel Sharon, once associated with the Likud, broke off from the party and formed the Kadima party in order to plow ahead with the expulsion.

Yitzhaki reminds that 11 years after the expulsion, there are still families that suffer from the consequences. "180 families still have no house and live in dilapidated trailers, 50 farmers still haven't received compensatory plots. Arik Sharon promised them land and there's still no solution on the horizon."

He calls to confiscate Havat Hashikmim, the Sharon family ranch, and establish a new community on it for those expelled from Gush Katif. "In my opinion that would settle the score for what was done in the expulsion."

Channel 2 reported in an interview with Gilad Sharon that he does not rule out running for the Knesset (parliament) in the next elections.
