A 6-year-old boy fell from a 3rd floor window in Ashkelon.

MDA paramedics evacuated him to the city's Barzilai hospital in serious condition.

Initial reports indicate the child was in his house with his mother and brother. He climbed on the windowsill in order to try to reach a book, lost his balance and fell out of the window.

There is no indication of foul play, but the possibility of criminal negligence is being investigated.

MDA paramedic Kelly Peretz, who treated the boy, told media: "When we arrived we saw a woman, around 40, holding a fully conscious child who was crying and obviously severely injured. They told us he fell from a three story height. We administered first aid and he was quickly evacuated to the hospital while treatment continued. His condition is serious."
