MK Amir Peretz (Zionist Union) had harsh words for Gidi Orsher, the Army Radio film critic, after a post of Orsher's on Facebook several days ago in which he came out against the "professional whiners from the East," ostensibly referring to Jews of Middle Eastern descent.

"All my life I fought against the specter of ethnicity," Peretz said, accordng to Walla. "The issue which Orsher and others are creating is causing a gaping wound that confronts me."

"As a man of the peace camp, a man of social justice--I need to apologize in Orsher's name, Peretz said. "I banish Orsher from the peace camp, what he said has no place in Israeli society."
