Yesh Atid head Yair Lapid has apologized for his comments about the relationship between Noa Landau, the English-language editor for Haaretz, and her partner Avner Gavriyahu, one of the leaders of Breaking the Silence.

Lapid wrote on his Facebook page: "I made a mistake. The attack on Noa Landau took the conversation about Breaking the Silence and Haaretz to a personal level by mentioning her relationship with her partner."

At the same time, he noted, "I do not retract a single word I have said about Breaking the Silence or Haaretz. One is a dangerous organization, the other is a newspaper that lost its integrity. Both, each in its own way, always deal with criticism. It's almost ridiculous to see how poorly they respond when someone dares criticize them."

In closing, Lapid said that "Noa Landau is not a continuation of her husband. She stands on her own. It's unreasonable, and as someone who believes in women's equality, I don't want to be in this place."
