75% of at-risk youth experience discrimination or racism, according to a disturbing report released Wednesday.

Of the 20,000 teens and young adults from the Elem organization interviewed for the study, 43% experienced discrimination in public, on the street; other stated they had experienced racism from the police, teachers, or friends at school. One third of respondents said they had experienced racism from more than one source.

98% of the 2,400 Ethiopian Israeli respondents said they had experienced racism in 2015; despite this, 71% said they were "proud of their origins and their culture." However, only 2% felt hope for change.

The annual Elem report summarizes social welfare activities in 42 communities in Israel.

The report will be presented to President Reuven Rivlin.
