Two residents of the Gush Etzion community of Efrat were arrested, following an incident last week in which the two allegedly used a toy pistol to threaten Arab drivers and forced passengers off of an Arab bus.

Last Wednesday the two suspects, aged 22 and 19, allegedly brandished a toy gun while driving their motorcycles on the road just outside of Efrat.

According to a police report, one of the two pulled ahead of an Arab car, threatened the driver with the pistol, and force him to pull over. The two then forced the driver of the car to exit his vehicle.

When a Palestinian bus carrying Arab workers arrived a few minutes later, the pair forced the passengers off the bus, threatening to shoot them. At one point one of the two suspects held the imitation firearm up against the head of one of the passengers, saying “Start praying for your life”.

On Sunday one of the Arabs involved in the incident filed a complaint with Israeli police. Within hours the two suspects were taken into custody and interrogated.

Both suspects confessed during interrogation and handed over the toy firearm used in the incident.
