The Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court on Thursday afternoon ordered the release of Shinor Dana, a Jew who was arrested over two weeks ago for investigation by the Israeli Security Agency (ISA or Shin Bet).

During his investigation Dana was prevented from meeting his lawyer, in an unusual breach of his rights.

He argues that the ISA investigators used violence against him, and also interrogated him on Shabbat while playing music in the interrogation room and smoking cigarettes right next to him, in a clear assault on his religious rights.

Dana was one of five Jews arrested earlier this month, and while he was released, the court ordered to extend until next Monday the arrest of two minors and two adults who were also arrested. Indictments are expected to be submitted against the four next Monday.

The court rejected the request of the police to extend the house arrest of two additional Jewish adults, ordering to release them from limiting conditions.

On Monday two other Jews were arrested on vague suspicions of being involved in "crimes targeting Palestinians," an accusation being cited against all the detainees in some form or another even as the details in the whole case remain under a gag order.

Aside from the recent string of arrests, nationalist activist Meir Ettinger remains under an administrative arrest without trial or charges against him. He has been held for over eight months, and recently was blocked from attending his firstborn son's brit milah (circumcision), while allegedly suffering abuse.

Amiram Ben Uliel and another as yet unnamed minor are also under arrest on charges of being involved in the lethal Duma arson last July, even though recent repeat arson cases hitting the same Arab family have raised serious question marks, as have accusations of ISA torture in the investigation of the case.
