Israel's Ministry for Diaspora Affairs is upping its social media game, in a bid to improve the Israeli government's outreach to Diaspora Jewry.

Diaspora Affairs Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home), who also serves as Education Minister, has repeatedly emphasized the importance of Israel reaching out to Diaspora Jews in meaningful ways, to connect communities around the world with the Jewish homeland.

As part of those efforts, the ministry has released an animated Passover greetings video in which Bennett outlines his vision for Israeli outreach to the Jewish Diaspora. The video was also released as part of the ministry's launch of its new Facebook page.

"The Israeli government is committed not only to the future and prosperity of Israel, but to the future and prosperity of Jews everywhere," he says.

That means prioritizing not only "security threats", but also tackling more subtle threats such as global anti-Semitism, assimilation and loss of Jewish identity, particularly among the younger generation.

Most importantly, Bennett stated, the relationship between Jews inside and outside of Israel must be a "two-way street."

"Jews in Israel are responsible for Jews in the Diaspora, and vice-versa."
