A rally being held in Tel Aviv's iconic Rabin Square Tuesday night is not just for IDF soldier El-Or Azariya, Azariya's father Charlie stated Tuesday - it's for "IDF soldiers and security forces, who work from morning till night, 24 hours a day."

The rally will be held for "those who will be in the same situation as my son was, and will feel an immediate and real danger to their lives," he added, speaking in an interview with Walla! News. "Despite all the attempts to obstruct the rally, it will take place and I will speak from there."

Charlie emphasized that the rally is not intended to represent a judgement on his son's specific case; rather, it is a show of empathy and support for soldiers in tricky situations.

"We will allow the legal issues to be clarified in Court," he said. "On the other hand, we want to give encouragement to soldiers and to my son as a response to the voices against them."

Azariya has testified he shot over concerns that the terrorist - who minutes earlier with an accomplice stabbed and wounded a soldier - was moving to detonate a hidden bomb belt.

Other soldiers at the scene, a Magen David Adom (MDA) investigative committee and a CID officer have all confirmed that concerns of a bomb belt had not been ruled out.

"Let's wait and see who was wrong: the court will decide - and I say that my son was not in the wrong," Charlie explained, noting that this is not a political rally. "The demonstration [serves to] encourage the soldiers and tell them 'thank you'; this rally is not related to politics."

"Politicians do not have the right to determine right and wrong; the sane people of this country do," he continued. "It can't be that people use politicians to achieve their own agendas."

Tuesday night's rally is due to shut down most of central Tel Aviv
