Hamas is still digging terror tunnels and rebuilding its arsenal, coalition chairman MK Tzahi Hanegbi (Likud) stated Saturday night - but the IDF is getting ready for it.

"It's no secret that Hamas hasn't changed its colors," Hanegbi stated, during an interview with Meet the Press. "It's been deterred but is strengthening."

"What matters is not what they are doing, but what the IDF is doing, and the IDF is prepared for all scenarios - including the difficult ones - and I can say that if there is another skirmish, we will have what to rely on."

Hanegbi's comments surface after relative quiet from Gaza - and days after a drill in the Gaza Belt region preparing for Hamas infiltration, suicide bombings, and other serious scenarios.

One month ago, Walla! News revealed that Hamas has rebuilt most of the arsenal destroyed in Operation Protective Edge in Gaza in 2014 - some 12,000 rockets.

Israel estimates that the number of Hamas terrorists and members of the various Hamas mechanisms in Gaza, including its civilian police force, stands at roughly 40,000 people; around half of that number are members of the terror group's Al-Qassam Brigades, with around 1,000 of them working on the tunnel digging project.
