MDA first responders were called to a home near the Jezreel Valley on Monday night, after receiving reports of complications in an attempted natural birth.

The call was made after the newborn child stopped breathing and showed no pulse. Immediately after arriving, the team began extended resuscitation efforts and brought the infant to Haifa's Rambam Hospital. Sadly, doctors were unable to save her life.

The mother has also been taken to the hospital for tests, though she is in good and stable condition.

MDA states that incidents such as this are uncommon, though parents considering a home birth should take it into account by ensuring that medical professionals are nearby.

Should there arise complications of any sort, immediately call MDA in order to prevent further and worse problems.
