Salah Abdeslam, the top suspect from the Islamic State (ISIS) massacre in Paris last November in which 130 people were murdered, was planning to repeat the same pattern of coordinated attacks in Brussels before he was caught and arrested last Friday, according to reports.

According to the Belgian VRT on Thursday, Abdeslam planned to launch multiple shooting and suicide bombing attacks in the Belgian capital, in a similar fashion to the six coordinated attacks in Paris.

Investigators believed Abdeslam and two other terrorists, one of which was arrested with him last Friday in the Molenbeek neighborhood of Brussels, planned to use assault rifles and riot guns in Brussels while others would blow themselves up, according to the report.

"The terrorists were planning the same scenario as in Paris, only it partially failed," reported VRT.

However, apparently in reaction to Abdeslam's arrest, other ISIS terrorists launched a series of bombings on a Brussels airport and metro station on Tuesday, murdering 34 people and wounding hundreds of others.

It was revealed on Thursday that the ISIS terrorists in the Brussels attack had tracked and filmed the Belgian nuclear chief while drawing up plans to blow up nuclear plants in the country, but apparently gave up the idea and sped up their attack, evidently in light of Abdeslam's arrest and out of fears they too would be caught.
