A young resident of Beit Horon located in the Binyamin region of Samaria to the northwest of Jerusalem reported on Sunday afternoon that he was attacked by a masked assailant who fled the scene.

Judea-Samaria district police announced that they were investigating to verify the report, and that large searches were being conducted to find the attacker, suspected as potentially being an Arab terrorist.

The town was closed to incoming and outgoing traffic, as huge security forces scoured for the assailant.

Beit Horon's security coordinator announced that residents are requested to remain indoors until further notification.

Shortly afterwards the authorities called for a return to routine activities, after the wide and extensive searches did not locate any evidence.
