Hevron activist Baruch Marzel on Sunday night spoke about Dafna Meir's murder from the site of Ganedi Kofman's lethal stabbing outside the Cave of Machpelah, where Marzel has been protesting for the past five weeks.
Meir was stabbed to death by an Arab terrorist at the entrance to her home in Otniel, in the southern Har Hevron region of Judea earlier on Sunday night.
In response Marzel, who nearly became an MK for Otzma Yehudt in the last elections, called on the IDF Central Commander and the Hevron District Commander to quit, in light of their inability to stop the Arab terror wave that has already left 29 murdered since September.
"For many months we are under a murderous assault and the only response in the Hevron region is: 'defense and more defense.'"
"You don't defeat terror with defense, the time has come to switch to offense attacking the terrorists and their accomplices," said Marzel. "The IDF can win but unfortunately the IDF today doesn't want to and is afraid of winning."
Last month as Marzel protested at the site of Kofman's stabbing, IDF Central Commander Roni Numa passed by.
"They may call you Numa but you need to wake up, Jews are being slaughtered in the land of Israel," quipped Marzel, playing off how "numa" can also mean "go to sleep." In response, a stung Numa said, "you hit me below the belt."
"Ganedi Kofman they stabbed above the belt in his heart, and he's lying in critical condition, and you're doing nothing to deal with the problem," shot back Marzel.
