Three criminals were moderately, seriously and critically wounded on Monday in a gangland car bombing, which rocked the coastal city of Rishon Letzion.

The explosion took place on Shimon Peres Street in the city.

Magen David Adom (MDA) crews evacuated a 24-year-old victim with critical wounds to Tel Hashomer Hospital; likewise a seriously wounded 32-year-old and a moderately wounded 25-year-old were evacuated to Assaf Harofeh Hospital.

The victims were later identified as the criminal Baruch Bokel, who has escaped several assassination attempts in the past, together with fellow gangsters Gabi and Baruch Falah.

All three are residents of the coastal city of Netanya.

MDA paramedics Ziv Kleinbert and Akiva Oshri arrived on the scene, and said, "outside of the car two men aged around 32 and 24 were lying on the road, while fully conscious and suffering from serious wounds to their limbs; we gave them initial life saving medical treatment and evacuated them to Assaf Harofeh and Tel Hashomer Hospitals."

"Adjacent to them was lying another man aged around 25 who was adjacent to the site of the incident at the time of the blast; we gave him medical treatment too and he was evacuated in moderate condition to Assaf Harofeh Hospital while suffering a wound to his stomach."

Three weeks ago a man aged roughly 40 was seriously wounded when his car exploded at the corner of Haminyan Harishon and Yitzhak Rabin Street in Nes Tziona, also located in the coastal area.

A police investigation found that the car was standing at a stoplight when it blew up, in an apparent assassination attempt on a criminal background.
