The Zionist group Im Tirtzu on Sunday held its annual Zionist Conference on Human Rights in Tel Aviv, in the wake of its recent report which exposed that 20 NGOs are actively involved in anti-Israel activity, including Breaking the Silence, which Im Tirtzu exposed is also funded by Palestinian beneficiaries.

Im Tirtzu’s revelation resulted in several actions being taken against Breaking the Silence, including Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon banning the group from entering IDF camps and engaging with IDF soldiers, and Education Minister Naftali Bennett’s decision to ban the extremist organization from operating within Israel's school system.

So far, Im Tirtzu’s campaign against Breaking the Silence has been met with “major success”, the group’s CEO Matan Peleg told Arutz Sheva.

“We’re very very proud of Israeli society, which is very supportive. A lot of people understand, both here and in the Jewish community in the world, that we are suffering from a very serious problem: Foreign governments that fund, using foreign money, NGOs in Israel. Those are foreign agents,” Peleg stressed.

“We have to save our democracy and this is a fight for democracy. Nothing else,” he continued.

To those who suggest that Im Tirtzu was too aggressive in its campaign, Peleg noted that heads of some leftists NGOs appear on international media and spread lies about Israel committing “war crimes” against Palestinians and Bedouins.

“Those are vicious lies, and if they take responsibility to tell those lies all over the world, we can also come and criticize them about what they are doing,” he said.

Zionism, said Peleg, is the only mechanism with human rights in the Middle East.

“This is the only stable place in the world. Look at what is happening in Iran, in Saudi Arabia, in Egypt, in Lebanon. Why does the entire world condemn Israel? Why do those foreign agents, with foreign money, try to change us from within? The Zionist country is the only country that is strong and stable in the Middle East. We want this foreign involvement to stop. This is colonialism.”
