After being at Soroka hospital in Be’er Sheva for two weeks, Talia Cohen, 17, died of her injuries Saturday after a tragic car accident at the exit from Moshav Sde Zvi.

The accident was caused after Talia, along with two friends, arrived to the Moshav to celebrate a friends ‘Mesibat Giyus’ (recruiting party). After a truck collided with her car on road 293, near the entrance to Moshav Sde Zvi, Talia's friends, Aviv Nahmias and Seymour Nahum from Jerusalem, were killed at the scene.

Cohen was injured very badly and since the accident was hospitalized in serious condition. However, her situation deteriorated and on Saturday morning she was pronounced dead.

Last Sunday, residents and Or Yarok (green light) activist held a demonstration at the intersection after the accident. According to participants, the purpose of the demonstration was to make the Ministry of Transport improve the infrastructure at the dangerous intersection on Highway 293.

"Every time someone exits the town they gamble with their life and we must not wait for the next people that get killed,” said an Or Yarok representative "It is the responsibility of the Ministry of Transport, who must make every road and junction safe for residents and other travelers".
