Arutz Sheva's Dr. Joseph Frager spoke with owner of Gristedes Foods and former New York mayoral candidate John Catsimatidis this week, to understand his views on a number of pressing issues - including Syria, Iran, the terror wave in Israel, and the upcoming 2016 presidential elections.

Catsimatidis noted that the US should be vigilant about ensuring that Iran keeps its word before lifting sanctions, quoting former US President Ronald Reagan's principle of 'trust, but verify.'

Meanwhile, he predicted that any sanctions - if they are to be lifted - will probably not be lifted until a new President is in office.

Ahead of elections, Catsimatidis urged, American Jewish community should "put their foot down" regarding "common-sense Democrats," urging them to vote for Israel instead of "voting for the Iranians."

But, practically speaking, the US would need to overcome its divisions to establish a congressional majority in order to take drastic action regarding the Iran situation or the issue of US support for the Palestinian Authority (PA), he opined.
