Judea and Samaria district police detectives launched a surprising early morning operation on Wednesday, detaining a rabbi and his wife and bringing them in for investigation.

The rabbi and his wife, who is an educator in the Shfela coastal flatland region, are both aged in their 40s.

According to initial reports by the Honenu legal aid organization, the detectives arrived at the family home at 6 a.m., ordering the stunned couple to accompany them for investigation.

The detectives did not present any sort of order or warrant to the couple.

It remains unclear why the couple is being detained.

Honenu announced that its attorneys are investigating the incident and seeking to find what motivated the police to launch their unusual detention.
