The Taliban in Afghanistan has released an audio recorded that it claims disproved reports of its leaders death.

"There is no truth to the rumors that I was injured or killed in Kuchlak," says a man's voice, allegedly belonging to Mullah Akhtar Mansour.

Reports earlier this week stated that Mansour had been injured, then killed, during an internal struggle in Pakistan.

Western intelligence communities have not yet commented on whether the latest recording is authentic.
