Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu held an impromptu meeting with US President Barack Obama at the sidelines of an international climate change conference in Paris Monday.

Netanyahu, who traveled to the UN summit last night along with Environmental Protection Minister Avi Gabbay, took part in a brief "walking meeting" with the American leader, which lasted around 10 minutes.

At the conclusion of the meeting, which was summarized as "important" by sources close to the PM, Netanyahu held a brief meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry.

Earlier, Netanyahu met with several other world leaders, including French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

Netanyahu also issued an invitation to Prince Charles, who is first in line to the British throne, to visit Jerusalem.

Also of note was Netanyahu's first meeting in five years with Palestinian Authority (PA) leader Mahmoud Abbas.
