Yesh Atid chairman and former Finance Minister Yair Lapid lashed out at Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Wednesday, stating the premier is failing to provide Israelis with enough security in the wake of the terror wave.

"They are stabbing people in the streets with knives, there are more and more terror attacks, and the prime minister does not really have any idea how to stop terrorism," Lapid stated, at a conference for Sderot.

"I have refrained from criticizing him for two months, but the man who calls himself 'Mr. Security' does not know how to deal with girls as young as 14 [attacking Israelis] with a pair of scissors," he added, referring to an attack two Palestinian Arab teenage girls launched on an innocent civilian in Jerusalem's Machane Yehuda market Monday. The girls mistook their victim - an Arab - for an Israeli Jew.

"So we will have to live with the Palestinians hurting us in the next fifty years," Lapid lamented.

"Netanyahu leads us to that fact that we continue to live with the Palestinians; we want the Palestinians off our streets, [and] we have a plan how to get there."
