Deputy Knesset Speaker MK Oren Hazan (Likud) on Friday condemned the way MK Ahmed Tibi is still being allowed to act as deputy Knesset speaker, even while Hazan was himself suspended from the position due to a media scandal over his alleged actions in the past.

Speaking to Arutz Sheva, Hazan noted on the way Tibi this Wednesday abused his position to have Absorption Minister Ze'ev Elkin (Likud) thrown out of a Knesset plenum, for accusing Tibi and other Arab MKs of incitement to terror.

"Minister Elkin presented the painful and correct truth in front of Ahmed Tibi, who chose to take him down from the podium in unprecedented shame," said Hazan.

"The Israeli Knesset is supposed to supervise the function of the government and not to disgrace members of the government," he continued. "It cannot be that a deputy Knesset speaker who is managing the plenum will silence people and dare to say that he's the 'sovereign' here."

MK Hazan opined that the Knesset needs to regain its reason, comparing Tibi's case with his own.

"A deputy Knesset speaker who incites against the state, manages a plenum and takes down a government minister and silences him is managing meetings in the Israeli Knesset, and another deputy Knesset speaker, who is an officer in the air force, second generation in the Knesset from a family with deep Likud roots, was suspended from managing the meetings because of the incitement of the media against him. We've lost all reason."

Hazan said that Arab MKs, who have openly supported the current wave of Arab terrorism, are actively instigating the terror attacks.

"Ahmed Tibi doesn't represent the public that sent him, Israeli Arabs, he represents the Palestinians and our enemies. They know how to manipulate the tools in their hands as Knesset members; that's what the verbal terrorist Jamal Zahalka does, and (Hanin) Zoabi in the matter of the Marmara (flotilla) - they have no precedent in verbal terror," he said.
