Two Israelis were injured Wednesday night, after a driver plowed his car into them in Jerusalem, on Eshkol Blvd.

Magen David Adom (MDA) reports that both are suffering from light injuries.

Israeli media published some details of the incident, then appeared to have backstepped (update: 8:00 pm); it is apparently unclear whether or not the incident was an actual terror attack.

The Israel Police confirmed (update: 8:10 pm) that a driver did injure two pedestrians on that boulevard during a chase - and that the incident was apparently an accidental hit-and-run.

"Israel Police asked a driver to stop for inspection," the Israel Police stated on Twitter. "The driver ran from police, hit two pedestrians, pulled over and began escaping on foot."

"The police conducted a chase and apprehended the suspect."
