Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid was joined by MKs Mickey Levy and Elazar Stern on a tour Thursday of Hagai Road in Jerusalem's Old City.

Lapid, Levy and Stern visited the site of the stabbing attack on Saturday night in which Rabbi Nehemia Lavi and Aharon Banita-Bennett were killed. There, they received a security briefing on recent terror attacks in the capital by deputy district police commander Erez Tabor.

The MKs also visited east Talpiot in Jerusalem to meet and hear from residents about their security needs and problems in the field.

During the tour, Lapid attacked the government for incompetence in responding to increasing Arab violence across Israel.

"It's clear the government reacted too late," Lapid charged. "The government must now go and propose solutions for Israel, to calm the area, to send troops in to work from morning until evening in order to keep things calm."

"There were warnings," Lapid added. "Our Mickey Levy warned about it over a month ago. It was clear the area was going to explode."

Lapid then expressed full support for security forces, calling on the public "to strengthen our soldiers and security forces acting decisively on the ground against terrorist murderers. The army, police and security forces know how to translate orders to calm the ground."

The Yesh Atid chairman later read a chapters of Psalms at the site of the terror attack and spoke with Old City youth.

"We are the Jewish people who returned to the land of Israel. It is ours and we are in the capital of Israel which we awaited for 2,000 years," he told the youths.

"People from around the world look at you and see we are ready to pay the price of returning our people to its land. Your difficulties create light. Our love of Israel will not be defined by hate - we are here because it's ours. You are at the forefrount and the creators of light. If there are enough creators of light, there will not be darkness. I am grateful you are here."
