Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shin Bet) chief Yoram Cohen, and IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkott visited the scene of the murders of Rabbi Eitam and Naama Henkin on Friday, as the IDF continued its manhunt for the perpetrators.

"There is no doubt that this is a very serious incident," Ya'alon said at the scene, just outside the Arab village of Beit Furik. "This is how we are relating to it and are taking action on the ground accordingly to prevent the next attack."

"We're here now in light of a [general] escalation during this time that, indeed, is not related to the Temple Mount, and is unfortunately aided by the incitement of the Palestinian Authority (PA -ed.)" Ya'alon continued. "All of this, of course, leads to murder and bloodshed. So we are working against those responsible for the incitement and I hope we can stabilize the security situation as soon as possible."

Ya'alon added that IDF forces in Judea-Samaria have been reinforced significantly to battle the growing number of rock and firebomb attacks on the military and civilians.

But he tempered his words with a note of caution for Israelis living in the area.

"I am here also to call on the heads of the settlements and the residents of Judea and Samaria to act responsibly," Ya'alon warned, stating that backlash against the IDF in rage against the lack of action vis-a-vis the attacks "added fuel to the fire."

The young couple, residents of Neria in Samaria, was murdered in front of the eyes of their four children, aged four months, four years, 7 and 9, who were in the car at the time. The young parents were in their thirties.

The "armed wing" of Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction has claimed responsibility for the attack.
