The monthly salaries of Israeli Knesset members are expected to rise once again in early January 2016, unless the MKs volunteer to forgo the annual increase.

The gross monthly salary for a Knesset member stands currently at 39,000 shekels ($10,100). If the wage increase is implemented, their salaries will be raised to approximately 44,000 shekels ($11,250) a month.

Knesset committee chairpeople, meanwhile, will see their salaries raised from 41,500 ($10,600) shekels a month to 45,500 ($11,600). The Knesset Speaker, who currently earns 48,300 ($12,350) a month, will also see a salary climb of 4,000 shekels ($1,020).

In addition to their monthly salary, Kneset members are also entitled to tens of thousands of shekels from the government per year under the Parties Financing Law, as well as donated funds from their electorate.

Parliamentarians also enjoy a two room suite in the Knesset building which includes a bathroom and shower. They are also entitled to vehicle leading, two parliamentary aides, newspapers, computers and hotel accommodations in Jerusalem.
