Religious Jews often do it almost without thinking - but for the uninitiated, Jewish dietary laws (kashrut) are a bewildering affair to say the least.

So how would six totally non-observant Jews fair when challenged to keep kosher for a single week?

In a viral video, Buzzfeed found out. Faced with a baffling list of restrictions and guidelines - from distinguishing between kosher and non-kosher fish to making their treif dishes usable - the six put in a valiant effort (well, mostly), and by the end of the week they'd all gained a surprising insight into the intricacies and beauty of kashrut (well, mostly).
