Jerusalem police are apparently letting terrorists run free, a Jerusalem city councilman insisted to Arutz Sheva on Sunday, despite the upswing in rock attacks in the area.
At 2:30 pm on Friday afternoon, an Arab terrorist threw rocks at a Jewish mother and her five children - including a baby - as they were driving near Jerusalem's Old City.
Arieh King and a neighbor called for help as they chased after the terrorist, who retreated into the Shiloach (Silwan) neighborhood.
After a few minutes they were able to capture the terrorist - but the police allegedly forced them to let the terrorist go.
"Unfortunately, when a police officer arrived, she told us to leave and let the terrorist go," King fumed. "The Border Police officer arrived in Silwan, identified the terrorist not twenty meters from him, but chose not to pursue him."
The incident surfaces just as Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan promised tougher measures against rock-throwers, following the death of a Jerusalemite before Rosh Hashanah due to a rock attack.
