Joint List chairman Ayman Odeh was hospitalized at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem on Wednesday night after experiencing chest pains, Channel 10 reports Thursday morning.

The 40-year-old politician fell ill last night during a Knesset debate and subsequent vote on the state budget. Magen David Adom paramedics were called to the building.

With concern Odeh had suffered a heart attack, the MDA teams rushed him to Hadassah Medical Center.

Odeh's condition is stable and there is no danger to his life, though he will remain hospitalized for an unspecified amount of time under observation.

"MK Ayman Odeh was hospitalized at the cardiac unit at Hadassah because of a suspected heart attack," an official statement from the hospital said. "His condition is stable and he is conscious."
