Culture and Sports Minister MK Miri Regev (Likud), addressed the destruction of houses in Beit El on Wednesday, and the words of MK Motti Yogev (Jewish Home) against the Supreme Court.

"This is a shocking sight, it is difficult, it is not right," said Regev, regarding the demolition of the Draynoff housing project, in an interview with Radio Kol Hai. ''I think that the evacuation was unnecessary, [and that] the court proved once again what I have said in the past: that it is cut off from the Israeli public, especially in Judea and Samaria."

"If they are so afraid of illegal construction - so please, come shall destroy all the illegal construction in the Arab sector and in the Bedouin sector," she added.

"It was also possible to reach an understanding - for the Minister of Justice, my friend Ayelet Shaked, and Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon to reach an understanding between them and to find the solution to the matter of the buildings instead of such a cruel and difficult evacuation that reflects the Disengagement."

Regev also referenced Yogev's calls to destroy the High Court, which caused a political firestorm. He later refused to apologize for the comments.

The Culture Minister claims that he was "exaggerating a little bit," as she put it, explaining that ''still, we have a Supreme, even if we would like to see other judges in it."

She expressed the hope that the judges will be replaced by a set of "more Zionist [justices], who feel the public pulse," and that the Court will be connected to the Israeli public.

"Of course I would not say we have to send a tractor to the Supreme Court, I think it was an unnecessary statement of MK Moti Yogev," she qualified. "I think he should go out and say that he used the phrase mistakenly, to present his case he should be clear and decisive but not talk about the destruction of the Supreme Court."
