Terrorist Confesses She Wanted to Kill a Soldier

Ruan Abu Matar, a 22-year-old resident of Beitillu named as terrorist who stabbed an IDF soldier outside Nahliel on Wednesday.

The terrorist who stabbed an IDF soldier earlier Wednesday has been identified as Ruan Abu Matar, 22, a resident of Beitillu near Ramallah, it was cleared for publication this evening. 

One soldier, a 22-year-old male, was wounded in the attack on Route 60 near the town of Nahliel in Binyamin.

Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics who arrived at the scene said the soldier was "fully conscious and suffering from a stab wound to his upper back."

"We provided first aid at the scene and proceeded to transfer him to the hospital in light-to-moderate, stable condition."

The soldier is now being treated at Tel Hashomer Hospital in central Israel. 

Abu Matar was arrested at the scene; she was not known to security forces prior to the attack, but admitted in her interrogation that her aim had been to kill a soldier.
