Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman have reached an agreement regarding the Judicial Selection Committee of the Israeli Supreme Court.

According to the deal hammered out between Likud representatives, as well as Netanyahu's aides and the Yisrael Beytenu chairman, the coalition will support the appointment of Yisrael Beytenu MK Robert Ilatov to the committee.

In return, Yisrael Beytenu, which sits in the Opposition, will vote in favor of the appointment of Likud MK Nurit Koren to the committee.

The Judicial Selection Committee is comprised of nine members, two of which are Knesset members.

Should Koren and Ilatov's appointments to the Judicial Selection Committee pass, the presence of right-leaning MKs on the committee would allow for the selection of more judges associated with the national camp.

Meanwhile, coalition officials have expressed hope that the deal between Likud and Liberman be a key to continued cooperation between the formerly aligned parties.
