The Institute for Forensic Medicine identified on Thursday the body found on Wednesday evening by a naval sonar in the waters of the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret).

It has been determined that it is indeed 21-year-old Tal Kadoshim, a Border Police officer who went missing in April while on a Passover vacation in the area.

Many efforts were made to locate Kadoshim, including police boats, cavalry, helicopters, volunteer divers, as well as additional volunteers who reached out to help the family.

Kadoshim's family has been notified and a funeral will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the military cemetery in Tiberias.

An initial investigation into the incident indicted that that jet ski Kadoshim and another Border Police officer were riding collided with a boat approximately half a kilometer off the coast of Ein Gev.

Kadoshim, who was sitting in the back, fell, hit the side of the boat, and was plunged into the water.

His body was found at a depth of about half a meter at the bottom of the sea; it is believed Kadoshim suffered serious injuries to his chest.
