Australia's Defense Minister Kevin Andrews appeared to be caught off guard Tuesday night, after he refused to name the leader of Islamic State (ISIS).

During an interview for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation news channel, Andrews is asked point-blank on more than one occasion who the leader of ISIS is - and he dodges the question multiple times, answering merely that it is a group led by "a cadre" of leaders with "fluidity" between groups within ISIS.

Later, he claims that he refuses to name the leader for "operational reasons."

Anchor Leigh Sales responds by saying simply that the leader is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi - and that the name is a matter of public knowledge.

The incident has sparked a number of snide remarks on social media.
