Nothing has been as controversial throughout Jewish history than making aliyah, immigration to Israel.

Ever since the Spies first reported negatively about the Land, Jews have chosen to remain in the Diaspora rather than move to their Biblical homeland.

The problem is that so many do not understand what the land of Israel is supposed to mean to the Jewish people, and Yom HaAtzmaut - Israeli Independence Day - brings this issue to the forefront each year.
