Some may have mistakenly thought it was an April Fools' Day joke by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, but a false Facebook page pretending to be that of Netanyahu's has raised ire in Likud after presenting the prime minister as appointing an Arab education minister.

Likud's legal adviser Attorney Avi Halevy is investigating legal measures the party can take against those behind the false page and other falsified social media pages claiming to be Netanyahu's, after the post by the Facebook page entitled "Binyamin Netanyahu Prime Minister."

In the post on Wednesday, the page wrote in Netanyahu's voice: "to show the seriousness of my intentions to repair the schisms in Israeli society, after my apology for saying that 'Arab citizens are thronging to the ballot boxes' on elections day, I decided today to take action."

"Therefore in my next government I decided to appoint a personal appointment of joint (Arab) list head MK Ayman Odeh as the next education minister of the government of Israel," continued the false post.

The statement on Netanyahu's elections day comment refers to when he warned that foreign funded NGOs were busing Arab residents to vote en masse, posing a threat to the chances of a right-wing government, and urging nationalist voters to turn out.

He later apologized for the statement after receiving a backlash of condemnation led by US President Barack Obama.

Regarding Odeh, the new MK recently revealed his subversive past in which he was highly influenced by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) terrorist organization and the 1987 "First Intifada" terror war.

Odeh also admitted he took part in countless violent protests, relating how he used to attack police officers in every protest.
