More than 100,000 Israeli voters have shared their decision to vote on Facebook so far Tuesday.

As of 4 p.m., more than 111,000 Israelis had used the special elections day function on Facebook to let their friends know they had gone to the ballot box to cast their vote.

Although it only represents a small percentage of those Israelis who have in fact voted so far (36.7% of some 5.8 million eligible voters by 2 p.m.), a real time graph shows an interesting illustration of voter trends throughout the day.

The number of voters rose rapidly from 7:30 a.m., shortly after polls opened, as Israelis rushed to cast their votes before heading off to enjoy the national holiday at parks, beaches and other attractions throughout the country.

Numbers peaked at around 1:30 p.m. and have been petering off since then, although they still remain high.

Social media has figured more prominently than ever before in this year's campaign, with parties releasing countless campaign vieos and other messages online.
