Hassidic music star Avraham Fried arrived on Thursday for a visit in the Binyamin region town of Beit El, where he will perform next week ahead of the High Holy Days, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

During his visit, Fried tried his hand at firing an M16 rifle at the practice shooting range of the town, though he admitted that he preferred singing into a microphone over firing a rifle.

As he visited the town Fried admitted that he does not really understand why it had taken him so many years to visit there.

"This is really exciting. I've never been here before. It gives me the feeling that sometimes dreams come true. It is amazing to see with my own eyes what we studied in school when we were kids,” he said.

Shay Alon, head of the Beit El Local Council, said prior to Fried’s show next week, "This is an exciting event for all the residents of Beit El and for me in particular. A historic event in Beit El. Avraham Fried, a musical superpower, comes to walk the trails and connect to all the history around here, it is simply very exciting."

It is hoped that Fried’s show will attract 3,000 people from communities in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem.
