Fresh from a sensational upset victory Sunday night over Real Madrid in the Euroleague finals at Milan, the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team is landed in Israel Monday, where tens of thousands of fans prepared to greet it.

The players landed at Ben Gurion Airport at 4:30 p.m. Israel time. After a celebratory welcome by hundreds of fans, they will proceed to the bureau of Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai for a reception.

The real party will begin at 7:30 p.m., at Rabin Square, just under the municipality building. The players will strut onto the stage and fans will go wild with joy, just as they did in Maccabi Tel Aviv's five previous European championship wins.

Drivers are advised to stay away from the area.
